ENGAGE IN ACADEMIC RESEARCH FOCUSED ON UNDERSTANDING

DISPARITIES IN SURGICAL CARE AND DEVELOPING INTERVENTIONS TO

ADDRESS THEM.

Faculty Chair: Research

Sabrina Sanchez, MD, MPH

Dr. Sanchez is an assistant professor at Boston University School of Medicine and an attending surgeon and surgical intensivist at Boston Medical Center. Her clinical and research expertise revolve around patient-centered outcomes in trauma and acute care surgery, shared decision making, geriatric surgery, surgical palliative care, and the social determinants of health. From an educational and academic standpoint, she is interested in diversifying the surgical workforce. By supporting students, residents, and colleagues from underrepresented groups towards a successful surgical career, she hopes to also help mitigate some of the disparities in care often seen in minority populations.
