The GOAL of the EDUCATION Pillar is to Introduce future generations of surgeons to the concept of disparities in surgical care and provide surgeons with the tools to advocate for their patients and communities.

ABRAHAM JAFFE, MD

An Attending surgeon in the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Division at BMC and Assistant Professor of Surgery at BUSM, Dr. Jaffe serves as the SRS Education Faculty Leader. Dr. Jaffe has a strong interest and commitment to caring for underserved communities, global surgery, humanism in surgery, and addressing social determinants of health and surgical equity. During surgery residency at UMass he served as a Surgical Research Scholar in Global Surgery and collaborated with partners in Gujarat, India on trauma based research and quality improvement projects. He also currently serves as a faculty advisor to the BUSM Surgical Society and Global Surgery Student Alliance (GSSA).
