SRS Advocacy Event at American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress
Chicago, IL October, 2025
Successful advocacy event hosted by Dr. Diane Haddad of the University of Chicago Chapter of SRS brought together surgeons, residents, and medical students to learn about glassblowing at Firebird Community Arts. Project FIRE is an employment and mentoring program that provides trauma informed support groups, case management, and medical treatment. The program is in partnership with Healing Hurt People-Chicago, a hospital based violence intervention program that provides case management support to participants.
