PILLAR DESCRIPTION:
ENGAGE IN ACADEMIC RESEARCH FOCUSED ON UNDERSTANDING
DISPARITIES IN SURGICAL CARE AND DEVELOPING INTERVENTIONS TO
ADDRESS THEM.
Aims:
Design and implement studies focused on understanding access to and delivery of surgical care in our communities.
Identify deficiencies in existing regional and national databases and improve their usefulness to study surgical equity by engaging with other local academic institutions.
Identify and apply concepts and principles derived from surgical equity research at the local and regional level on a global scale.

SRS is engaged in research methods to better understand disparities in surgical care and access and design appropriate interventions to address these inequalities.
